Memories and dust

Oh, my dear sweet little boys head has been sold.I’m sure that he will be well looked after but I miss him dearly.

I will always have pictures to remind me of the special little treasures that have come and gone.

I am in love with the incredible new PolaDROID software. I must sound like a corny T.V shopping reporter but “the results are just amazing”.

I was so inspired by Pia Bijkerks images and quickly followed suit by playing with this fantastic little piece of equipment.

Rustic Green Industrial display

This is a new piece in the store. It’s a depression era metal cupboard storage unit. Originally it would have sat horizontally but it’s been made into kitchen storage for onions and potatoes.
The finish on it is just amazing, the most beautiful shade of fresh mossy green. The little handles lock and the numbers are so cute. It’s going to be hard to let this one go…

Blue Butterfly Display

Orange Oriental Display

One of my favorite things is styling the store. I love putting stock together and I really enjoy finding new and creative ways to display objects in the shop.
The blue glass rooster dish above is one of my most treasured pieces at the moment. He comes apart and has a decent sized dish in his bottom half. Great for jewelry or little bits and bobs.
A customer came in a while ago and bought a chicken doorstop. She said she collects chickens. They have to have a purpose though, no ornaments for her. So perhaps my little blue boy will find a new home soon.

Lucky numbers

We have some great new stock at the moment and I had lots of fun restyling the shop and adding all the new bits and pieces.
My favorites are the old croquet field numbers. The metal ones are all chipped and lovely and the wooden ones are a little scuffed so I sanded the edges smooth and now they are distressed to perfection.
They would look super cute on a desk or you could even use them as a house number.

My other favorite is the ceramic child’s head. He is the sweetest little prince.

I don’t think he will be in the shop for very long. A friend of mine was looking at him yesterday, imagining him perched on a mantle or arranged on top of a bedside table.
I have him set as a still life on top of some old books, scattered with dried rose petals and old copper coins.

Mirror, mirror on the wall…

We had a fun day in the shop today. I sold the beautiful art deco mirror you can see in the picture above. It was one of those special pieces where I have a little sad sigh when it’s gone. I’m sure that Karyn will give it a lovely new home.X

Peace out

We have sold so many of our gorgeous ceramic christmas decorations. They make a great gift for family and friends overseas. I love them to pieces and it’s just so nice to have decorations that are suited to an Australian christmas.
