Verandah Chairs

Oh, we have had some great stock come and go over the last week. I had an amazing collection of vintage ephemera that came all the way from Tasmania which has already found a loving home here in Sydney, a sweet little Kauri pine chest of drawers and a complete carry rack of vintage milk bottles that disappeared out of the shop just as quickly as they came in.

I have also been busy styling a gorgeous little house for an equally gorgeous friend of mine and am in the early stages of a painting commission.

So what’s new in the shop? We have a mismatched pair of white sea grass verandah chairs in store. They are just lovely, worn to perfection and oh-so cozy with a throw rug and vintage cushion. We also have a great range of framed floral prints just like the rose picture on the wall above. I was very happy with my cream roses from the fruit shop. I came down stairs this morning and stepped into the sweet floral fragrance half way down the hallway stairs. Overnight the fragrance had filled the whole shop. $12.00 well spent!

Rose Vase

For all the treasure hunters out there, we have some lovely pastel colored enamel bowls, vintage sewing scissors, pretty glass bottle stops, rustic round wooden door knobs, antique soap boxes, and french porcelain tea canisters. But be quick! I just sold the pretty rose vase in the picture above, before I have even had time to finish writing this post.

Vintage Books

We also have a great range of vintage books with titles including Dr Dolittle and Treasure Island. I just love them for styling as they look fantastic in stacks to feature items on top of like a little pedestal. Some of the books have beautiful illustrations and some have dapper bookplates but they all have very lovely covers and the pages are worn to the perfect shade of brown.

croquet-numbers

Do not dilly dally, here are the very last of the croquet field numbers. Yesterday we sold a 4 to go into a big indoor kitchen herb pot, a 6 to go onto a verandah pot plant as a street number, and an 8 to add to a collection! We have 1,4,5,6,8 and 13 left.

Shopping Tote 1

We also have the most divine handmade shopping totes in store. Each bag is handmade from recycled vintage fabric and embellished with vintage doilies and hand embroidered. They are very sturdy and super cute to boot!

They make a perfect gift for the “girl who has everything”. Everyone buys groceries and everyone should be doing their bit for the environment and using their own bags.

I take mine with me every time I go to the shops. They also fold down and are small enough to carry around in your handbag. One never knows when a spot of shopping may occur… Scout’s motto- be prepared!

Industrial Metal Stencils

For those who have a special number or letter that they hold dear, we have a great range of industrial metal stencils in store. My old flat-mate had a thing for prime numbers. To each their own!

Anyhoo, I have made some into a farm-shed chic mobile for my window display, you might like to hang yours in a window or have one leaning up on a ledge somewhere in your home. We have already sold a few to be used in artworks and some to be tacked onto bedroom doors!

We have limited stock and the range includes all letters of the alphabet and numbers from 0 to 9.  We also have a few of the fruit box stencils left that we brought back from our recent trip up north and for us lawn-less city slickers we have numbered metal garden spikes which have been selling quite well as house numbers to stick into pot plants on a front porch. I guarantee your neighbors will be green with envy!
