This is just a sneak peek of some of the new stationery that’s heading our way. I can’t wait until it arrives, the range of Brooch cards are so clever. I’ve already got a few people in mind to send them to. It’s 8 to 10 days for parcel shipping from Canada so I’ll let you know as soon as it’s in store!
11.04.09 Just a note to let you know that the stock arrived safe and sound. We have only had the stationery and brooches in the shop for just a few days and almost sold out of a few product lines. The little packs of bird note cards are flying out the door – don’t miss out!

Take a look at this months issue of Inside Out Magazine. Newspaper Taxi has products featured in the Homewares Trend – Camping shoot. Most of the items have sold already but we do have lots of similar stock available in store.
Oh I want to go camping, We’ve been pretty busy lately and haven’t really had time to get away but when we do Matt and I like to go up to the Bluemountains. We pack up the car and spend the weekend bushwalking, sightseeing and as always- shopping. There are some quaint little treasures up in those mountain towns!
We camp down in the Megalong Valley or in Blackheath. The last time we were up there I was chasing fresh water crayfish on a bushwalk through the Grand Canyon and fell in a creek. I had soggy shoes and walked the rest of the track barefoot.
I remember when Matt and my sister and I stayed in a cabin for the long weekend. It was freezing FREEZING cold. In the morning my sister Emilee and I went for a walk to the pond and fed the ducks and swans. It was all misty and still, there were dew drops dangling from spider webs in the bare branches of the trees. A pretty sight indeed! It’s just like a magical fairy land in winter.

We have a great range of gift cards in store at Newspaper Taxi. This Gocco print range comes all the way from Portland Oregon.
They are really lovely and quite simple in their design which is what makes them so stylish. The Cheers card featured above is perfect as a thank you card or great as a wine lovers birthday card it really is such a good all-rounder.

Oh this is such a super cute card. I should really send one to my Auntie just to say hello and thank her for all the lovely cards she has sent me.

The outside of this slick little card has “It’s Your Birthday” printed in green and a record player in black. Inside is printed “Tune in, Turn on, & Rock out”

Pop in store and have a peek at our new stock. We have some lovely oriental inspired early ceramic pieces, framed floral prints, glass fronted medicine cabinets and hand painted Italian serving trays.

We also have a vibrant selection of Mexican handcrafts including mirrors and ornate tin decorations. The little tin decorations we sold out of late last year are now back in stock with a few new designs available. (The peacock is my favorite!)
In store you will find a new range of mexican style gift cards and ceramic candle sticks which are really bright and very sweetly adorned with handmade ceramic birds and fruit. I think they would make a lovely house warming present, in fact any of the Mexican handcrafts would be perfect for a gift. We just sold another one of the rainbow winged heart mirrors with a Frida Khalo gift card as a present for a young lady.

We have a lovely range of ceramic pieces in store at Newspaper Taxi. The detail above is taken from a stunning “Mason’s” ironstone china dish. It’s simplicity and hand painted touches make it quite special. Matt and I both agreed it wont last long.

This cake stand is one of the most beautiful objects I have ever seen. It’s has quite a bit of age to it and the glaze on the surface has worn away down to the the ceramic underneath and it is SO smooth. The texture is amazing, every time I walk past I have to run my fingers over it.

Ooohhh, another French fabric covered box. I just love these boxes. It’s the second one we’ve had in the shop. A client that lives just down the road bought the first one. She said it was for a gift but then as she was walking out the door, had second thoughts and mumbled something about keeping it for herself!

I love tins, they are a Newspaper Taxi bestseller and I have a bower bird instinct for finding very pretty ones to add to the in store collection. The detail is taken from the top of a round biscuit tin which would make a great tidy box for odds and ends in the bathroom or kitchen.
